The last stretch. We aim to open in the next few weeks, so now it’s cleaning time. Years of dust, plus the additional dust created by tradesmen fixing up the kitchen, bathroom, and the dining area. So. Much. Dust.

Some highlights though – the kitchen is just about done, with big benches ready for butchery and bread making, the painting’s done, allowing the late afternoon light to highlight previously dark areas. The actual bar counter and wine shelves are being built and fitted this week.

Coffee machine is in, fridges are on and the billiards table is polished, but we’re still working on sound and, ahem, seating.

Initial menu is written, but as it will rely so much on whats available seasonally, this will always remain a rough copy – until I start cooking! Wine list, check.

Stress levels are currently hovering at about a 7. Quite manageable…

    Geen grand opening, so jul sal nie n party mis, maar ek wens so almal kon die plek sien, dis so oud en vol stories…
